Quick Navigation
Arriving at the Venue and Event Timing
Create checklist of things to do.
- Pick up TRYathlete Kit
- Rack Bike
- Write race number on arms and legs
- Be ready to start on time.
- Preparing the night before the event (new checklist)
Once you are at the Event Venue on the day of the Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon, you will need to come to
the Administration and TRYathlete Kit tent to pick up your TRYathlete Kit. Once you have your TRYathlete Kit
(or if you already have had your TRYathlete Kit couriered to you ahead of event day), you will then
head to the Transition Area where our Crew members will be on hand to help you rack your bike in
the correct area. When you have racked your bike, and before Race Briefing, ensure you have
your race number written on your arms and legs. This will assist our photographers with identifying
you in the photos that they take. You will find vivids on the poles of our Merchandise tent should
you not have one on hand on the day of the event. You might also want to quickly check out our
Info Board if you have any queries, or the Weet-Bix Breakfast Challenge tent.
Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon events always start on time. This is especially important in the areas where the
swim section is in the sea as we're dependent on tides. It is important that all competitors arrive at
the event on time.
Please ensure you listen carefully to the Race Briefing as all the information you will need to know
for the day will be explained at this time. Once the Race Briefing is complete, Race participants
will be called in groups, classified by swim cap colour.
Please remember, bikes are not available from the Transition Area until after Prize-giving has
been completed. Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon events generally last for 3-4 hours, so we suggest you pack a
picnic, a hat and some sunscreen.

Prize-giving
Prize-giving will begin as soon as possible after all event competitors have completed the course.
Competitors must be on-site to claim any prizes they win. You must have your official Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon race number from that event on hand to claim your prize. Remember, prizes are
unable to be claimed after the event. Prizes are also unable to be claimed by persons other than the entrant named
as the winner.
Bikes can be removed from the Transition Area only once Prize-giving has been
completed. Please ensure you plan to be on-site for a sufficient length of time.

Transition Area
The Transition Area is where during the race, you will head after the swim to collect your bike for
the biking section, and where you will leave your bike for the run section. When you first arrive at a
Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon, this is where you will rack your bike in preparation for your race.
As a Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon participant, you will need to leave the following gear in the Transition
Area:
- Bike
- Helmet
- Running shoes
- Socks (optional)
- Drink bottle (preferably on your bike)
- Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon race t-shirt (with your large race number attached to the front)
- Towel (optional)
- Any medication you may need during the race itself
The Transition Area is organised according to swim cap colour. Bikes will need to be lined up with
the flag matching your swim cap colour. Additional equipment kept to the side of your bike...
It's a good idea to make your bike stand out somehow so it will be easier for you to find during
your race. For example, you could use a brightly-coloured towel on your seat or handlebars.
Once your bike and required gear has been placed in the Transition Area prior to the event, except
in the course of your race, you will not be able to access your equipment until after Prize-giving
has been completed. Since the Transition Area is an important area in any Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon,
we cannot have bikes being removed from this area for Health and Safety reasons. The
Transition Area constitutes a part of the Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon race course.
Anyone other than race participants currently racing are not permitted into the
Transition Area until Prize-giving has concluded.
You need to ensure that you allow sufficient time to stay on the grounds and collect your gear at
the end of Prize-giving. Please listen to our announcers on the day of the event for approximate
timing indications. Due to the nature of the event, all indications given on timings are approximate
only.
Due to the nature of the event, we do not take responsibility for any lost property.

Meeting up with Friends and Family
Should you become separated from members of your family, we will have a 'Meeting Point' tent on
the day where our team will take care of any children separated from their parents. Due to the
number of children present at the event, we will not be making lost children's announcements over
the PA system. We ask that on the day of the event you bring any children you come across who
look lost to this tent.
To make sure you don't need to visit the 'Meeting Point' tent, please organise a meeting place with
your family and friends. We also recommend that parents write their mobile number on their child's
arm to enable our crew at the 'Meeting Point' tent to make contact quickly if necessary.

Safety
Safety is the top priority for each and every Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon event.
For the safety of all competitors, vehicle access during the race will be restricted. If you have to
leave early, please park clear of the event course. You will not be able to access your equipment
in the Transition Area until after Prize-giving has been completed.
Participants and spectators alike must follow race Marshals' instructions. They will be the ones in
the bright red Crew shirts encouraging you and directing you around the course. We ask that all
spectators keep clear of all parts of the Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon course at all times. This includes the
Transition Area, which, once the race starts, will not be open again until after Prize-giving has
concluded.
