What to eat
When you're training for the Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon, you will need to make sure
you're eating the right kind of food.
You'll need three good meals and a
couple of healthy snacks in between.
To keep your energy levels up, make
sure you eat something before and
after your training. Make sure you eat
plenty of Weet-Bix as they are packed
with carbohydrates for energy and are
made from 97% wholegrains. You will
also need to drink around 6-8 glasses
of water per day. It's a good idea to
have a drink bottle holder on your bike.
While you're training, you might also
like to take one to the pool when you're
swimming.

What to drink
While eating the right kind of food is important when you’re training for the Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon, it's just as important to drink lots of water to keep your body well hydrated.
About 70% of your body is water, and every organ of your body from your skin to your brain relies on keeping hydrated so it works properly. Water also helps to keep your body cool when exercising, your bones and joints moving, your muscles strong, and gives you energy by transporting nutrients throughout your entire body.
So when you're training you will need to drink around 6-8 glasses of water per day - try filtered water for a really great taste. It's a good idea to have water before, during and after training so you don't get dehydrated. Remember to have a drink bottle holder on your bike, and while you're training you might also like to take a drink bottle when you're swimming.
Don't forget you'll need plenty of water on the day of the Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon too!
